Maternal - Fetal Medicine Physician

We are seeking a Board-Certifiedor Board-Eligible Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) Physician for locum tenenscoverage in Mechanicsville, Virginia. This role supports a high-volume MFMpractice with a strong emphasis on high-risk obstetrics, providingcomprehensive care across both clinic and inpatient settings. Schedule & CallCoverage Clinic Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:15 PM Weekday Call: Nightly call coverage Weekend Call: 24-hour call coverage Weekend Requirements: Yes On-Call Requirements: Weekdays and weekends Clinical Details Average Scheduled Patients per Day (Mandated): 27 High-Risk Pregnancy Volume: 95% Low-Risk Pregnancy Volume: 5% Nursery Level: Level III Average Nursery Admissions per Day: N/A Trauma Designation: N/A EMR: Epic, Viewpoint Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive care for high-risk maternal and fetal patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings Perform consultations, diagnostic evaluations, and ongoing management of complex pregnancies Participate in weekday and weekend call coverage for urgent and emergent MFM needs Collaborate with OB/GYNs, neonatology, nursing, and interdisciplinary care teams Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation in the electronic medical record Required Procedures& Skill Sets Amniocentesis Chorionic Villus Sampling (CVS) Cerclage (preferred) Management of high-risk conditions including: Pre-eclampsia and hypertension Multiple gestations Fetal growth restriction Chromosomal, congenital, and genetic abnormalities Pre-term labor Thrombophilia Birth defects and complex maternal or fetal comorbidities Experience with vaginal and cesarean deliveries in high-risk settings Qualifications Board Certified or Board Eligible in Maternal Fetal Medicine Completion of an accredited MFM fellowship Active Virginia medical license BLS certification AIUM certification Mechanicsville offersa welcoming suburban environment just outside Richmond, combining a strongsense of community with convenient access to major healthcare systems, culturalattractions, and outdoor recreation throughout Central Virginia.
