Skilled - CNC Operator - 2nd Shift
CNC Operator $20.50/hour 2nd 4:00pm-2:00am CNC Operator Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To: Operate and adjust CNC machining equipment to perform standard and repetitive sequences of drilling, reaming, tapping, milling, turning, boring, and other machine operations over a wide range of surfaces, diameters, and depths where programs are proved and setup by others Inspect product using various gages such as micrometer, bore gage, and thread gage Follow work instructions and safety procedures to produce quality product that meet specifications in a safe manner Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipment such as coolant levels, way oil, and cleanliness Support continuous improvement projects such as 5S, cost reduction initiatives, including cycle time reduction, tooling wear reduction, reduction of tooling expenses, etc., and make recommendations for process improvements Unload machines and package parts as needed Put equipment in the proper status in the work center Responsible for all inventory at assigned machines, including clearing away from machine and computer system after the run Assist in prepping the machines for changeover Make basic offset adjustments to current tooling and dimensional stability Individuals directed by management to operate a vehicle for work purposes will observe the requirements of the Fleet Safety Program Support, promote, and perform in a manner consistent with continuous improvement goals and company values which includes the policies, procedures, and requirements of the Quality Management and IS0 14001 Environmental Management Systems All other duties as assigned by supervisor CNC Operator Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent Experience with CNC single and twin spindle lathes, vertical mills, and other machines, and implementing lean manufacturing concepts Technical degree Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques Experience in using various inspection instruments (Micrometers, bore gages, thread gages, etc.) Ability to read blueprints Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Energetic and self-driven professional, with a high degree of customer focus Excellent communication skills, both internally and externally Solid analytical skills, strategic thinking ability, and problem-solving capacity Good team player with an ability to operate in a cross functional organization Proven ability to manage deadlines, prioritize, and multi-task Demonstrate comfort level in interacting with all levels of the organization and with customers Ability to troubleshoot issues, find root causes, and initiate corrective actions Strive for continuous improvement QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
