This role is hands-on and technical, focused on electrical, mechanical, and infrastructure systems that support 24x7 uptime in a mission-critical facility. The ideal candidate has strong experience in critical facilities operations, understands redundancy and fault-tolerant design, and is comfortable responding to incidents, performing root cause analysis, and supporting maintenance and expansion activities.Key ResponsibilitiesData Center & Facilities OperationsOperate and maintain mission-critical electrical and mechanical systems, including: UPS systemsGeneratorsSwitchgearPDUsHVAC / CRAC / CRAH systemsMonitor facility systems using BMS / EPMS / DCIM platformsPerform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure maximum uptimeSupport incident response, troubleshooting, and escalation during alarms or outagesReliability & PerformanceMaintain compliance with redundancy standards (N+1, 2N, etc.)Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and document corrective actionsSupport capacity planning, load balancing, and system optimizationParticipate in testing events, including generator load tests and failover exercisesProjects & Engineering SupportSupport new deployments, expansions, and retrofitsAssist with commissioning and validation activitiesReview MOPs, SOPs, and EOPsCoordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholdersSafety & ComplianceFollow all safety protocols and regulatory requirementsEnsure compliance with internal standards and external auditsMaintain accurate documentation and operational logsRequired Qualifications3+ years of experience in a mission-critical data center, critical facilities, or similar high-availability environmentStrong knowledge of electrical and mechanical infrastructureExperience with UPS, generators, switchgear, and cooling systemsAbility to read and interpret on-line diagrams, schematics, and technical documentationExperience working in a 24x7 operational environmentComfortable with on-call rotation and after-hours incident responsePreferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field) or equivalent experienceExperience in hyperscale or colocation data centersFamiliarity with commissioning processesExperience with DCIM, BMS, or EPMS platformsCertifications such as: Uptime Institute (ATD, AOS)Electrical or mechanical trade certificationsOEM training (UPS, generators, HVAC)System One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé, ALTA IT Services, and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
