SUMMARY OF POSITION & REQUIREMENTS
We are seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to join our team. This position involves the operation of heavy construction equipment including excavators, track loaders, dozers, scrapers, articulated dump trucks, backhoes and more. Equipment operators will work on sites throughout Central Pennsylvania and Northern Maryland. A successful candidate should possess a positive attitude and at least 2 years’ experience in operation of construction equipment. A high school diploma or GED is preferred but not required. Candidates should also be reliable and have a Class C driver’s license (minimum).
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate Heavy Equipment in compliance with Abel Construction’s operating safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure company equipment is maintained and kept clean.
- Check all fluids, grease and fuel equipment.
- Utilize various pieces of equipment to perform fine grading, slope grading, backfilling, demolition, trenching, loading, excavating and stockpiling material.
Please note: this job is not forklift or machine shop oriented. It is excavation field oriented.
