We're Lear For You.Assistant Plant Manager Auburn Hills - In-PersonAs a member of the Auburn Hills Leadership team, the Assistant Plant Manager will be responsible for managing, supervising, and coordinating all day-to-day plant Operations, Engineering, Materials and Quality function of an automotive plant as well as establishing and maintaining community and customer relations. The role includes:Establishing and leading cultural change in a participative work environmentActively supporting launch activities for all OEM plant customersSetting long term goals and objectives for the company to keep, anticipate and plan for future endeavorsPerforming a quality review of the various functionsCommunicating & realizing the vision in terms that the team can understand and know how they each contribute, and what is required to achieve said visionRecognizing and understanding the requirements of our internal and external customers and is dedicated to establishing the highest industry standards for quality, value, service & technologyDetermining the risks associated with production and develop contingencies based on the needs of the customersEvaluating the leadership within the plant, coaching, and mentoring to develop the team into a cohesive team with development and succession plans for high potentials, enable a culture of succession planning and career developmentEnsuring compliance with the following legislation: OHSA, Human Rights, and Employment StandardsDirecting and coordinating plant operations within company policies and procedures and strives for continuous improvement of process improvementsScheduling and conducting plant meetings to keep employees abreast of the outlook of the plant and discuss long range goalsAttending scheduled corporate training and meetings and community events, as necessaryPerforming any other duties as required in pursuance to the function of this position or as directedAllocating workload, if necessary, to ensure all teams are fully staffed and able to complete work goalsAttaining production goals and efficiencies while controlling and reducing costs with full plant responsibilityInteracting with vendors, nearby customers, operations manager, and suppliers to ensure the plant provides superior customer serviceOptimizing the plant profitability, production, quality, and service to exceed industry standards and secure a market leadership positionDirecting production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of the plantDeveloping plans for the efficient use of materials, machines, and human resourcesResearching best industry practices in all areas of the operation and modifying and implementing them into the facilityDriving the budget development process and developing strategies to achieve organization goalsDefining projects, schedules, and strategies to impact production cost, quality, and performanceCalculating labor and equipment requirements and production specifications using standard formulasYour Qualifications: 5-10 years' experience in a management function within the automotive industry Previous experience overseeing an operation producing automotive seats, interiors, or instrument panels Experience in complex supply chains and high complexity manufacturing environments Experience with High Performance Work Teams Effective communication and interpersonal skills and Planning and Organization skills Time Management and Prioritization skills. & Ability to manage multiple priorities Ability to work in a team environment and High attention to detail Critical thinking and problem-solving skills Experience working with OEM customers for various topics including quality and operations Understanding of manufacturing assembly, sequencing, and equipment principles Lear Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer, committed to a diverse workplace.
