Our company has a strong reputation, established customer base, and long-term relationships across the region.We are looking to add an Entry-Level Sales Engineer in the Columbus market. This is an understudy role, where you will work directly with an experienced sales professional during your first year to learn the business from the ground up.Who This Role Is Built ForThis position is ideal for someone who can walk into a plant, talk with maintenance, and still hold their own with engineers.You might be:- A recent graduate with a technical or mechanical background- Someone with hands-on experience in manufacturing looking to move into sales- Early in your career and looking for a path with long-term growth and earning potentialWhat You’ll Do- Train directly under a senior sales representative in an active territory- Spend time in manufacturing environments, not just behind a desk- Work with design and process engineers, plant managers, supervisors, and maintenance teams- Assist with product demos, troubleshooting, and solution recommendations- Learn to understand customer problems and match them with practical solutions- Build relationships through consistency, follow-through, and reliability- Gradually take ownership of accounts as you developWhat We’re Looking For- Mechanical aptitude — you understand how things work- Comfortable being both hands-on and customer-facing- Willingness to learn technical products and applications- Ability to communicate clearly with both shop floor teams and engineers- Strong work ethic, accountability, and follow-through- Self-motivated and able to manage your timePreferred but not required:- Engineering degree or technical training- Experience in manufacturing, maintenance, or industrial environments- Exposure to tools, equipment, or fastening systemsYear 1: Understudy / Development PhaseYou won’t be thrown in on your own.During your first year, you will:- Work side-by-side with an experienced sales professional- Learn our products, applications, and customers- Gain real-world experience solving problems in the field- Build confidence before taking on full responsibilityCompensation & Support- Base salary plus commission- Business expense reimbursement- Health benefits- Company-provided cell phone- Monthly car allowance- Hands-on training and ongoing developmentBefore You ApplyThis role requires regular time in manufacturing environments, learning technical products, and building relationships over time — not quick wins.If you prefer a fully remote role, a purely desk-based job, or are not comfortable in industrial settings, this position will not be the right fit.Application RequirementTo be considered, please include a brief response (3–5 sentences) to the following:Describe a time you had to learn something technical or hands-on.
