Driver - HAZMAT & CDL

The CDL Driver will be responsible for ensuring timely deliveries of chemical and detail goods to predetermined customers on specific routes. The role will also be responsible for reviewing orders prior to delivery, loading and unloading trucks, and providing exceptional customer service to our client base. Some overnight travel. Overnight travel could be 2-3 nights per week.ResponsibilitiesDeliver to sites and customers on assigned routes in a safe and timely matterAnalyze delivery address, determine appropriate routes, and maintain scheduleConduct inspections of vehicles before departing to deliver goodsPack and load products onto trucks according to company’s specificationsUnload goods as per client specificationsReview orders before and after delivery and obtain delivery confirmationsReview deliveries with customers to ensure products meet their needs and customer is satisfiedAbiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving recordPreparing reports and other documents relating to deliveriesMaintain ongoing communication with dispatch personnelCheck in with warehouse on delivery progress as neededAlways keep vehicle organized, clean and tidyReport any accidents or injuries to supervisor immediatelyWork with support team to provide exceptional customer service and address customer concernsMaintain driving log, prepare vehicle performance forms including, Performance and documentation of Daily Vehicle Pre-Trip Inspections, and complete daily paperworkProvide special care in delivering fragile and hazardous productsAll other duties as assignedQualificationsExperience & Education:High School Diploma/GED required.Valid Driver’s license issued by the state where you intend to workClean Driving Record3+ years of experience preferred as a Delivery DriverDrivers under 1 year of experience are required to have ELDT (Entry-Level Driver Training) certificationStrong time management and customer service skillsWillingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures and transportation laws.Ability to walk, drive, lift and carry heavy items for extended periods of timeTravel required.Current Sonny’s employees may receive financial assistance with obtaining a CDL and/or Hazmat Endorsement.CDL RequiredHAZMAT endorsement required.Working Conditions & Physical Demands:Will require heavy lifting (lifting greater than 55 pounds).Materials and Equipment Used: Will require proper coordination, and motor skills to operate vehiclesCandidates will be required to complete a background check and drug screen before beginning work
