Payroll Supervisor (Farmington)
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Supervisor to lead and oversee multi-state payroll operations in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have strong payroll leadership experience, advanced analytical skills, and hands-on expertise with Workday payroll systems. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing, payroll accounting reconciliation, tax jurisdiction management, and continuous process improvement initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesManage bi-weekly payroll operations for approximately 2,000 employees across 22 states, including California, Texas, and Illinois, supporting multiple subsidiaries.Supervise payroll processing activities to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.Maintain and establish new business tax jurisdictions, including oversight of work-from-home (WFH) tax liabilities, cost codes, and pay codes.Perform payroll accounting reconciliations and support month-end and year-end close activities.Lead worker's compensation audits for multiple entities, including organizations outside the payroll structure.Partner with third-party vendors and tax service providers to manage employee remittances and payroll tax payments.Conduct audits and analysis of large data sets to ensure payroll accuracy, financial integrity, and customer reporting requirements.Develop and maintain KPI tracking for bi-weekly payroll cycles, identifying trends, process gaps, and improvement opportunities.Establish and maintain payroll customer service guidelines, principles, and performance tracking metrics.Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Finance, Accounting, and Compliance teams to support organizational objectives.Ensure confidentiality and security of payroll information and employee records.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.5+ years of progressive payroll experience, including supervisory or leadership responsibilities.Required: Hands-on experience with Workday Payroll.Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll laws, tax regulations, garnishments, and compliance requirements.Experience with payroll accounting reconciliation and audit support.Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.Excellent communication and customer service skills.CPP certification preferred but not required.Preferred SkillsExperience supporting multiple subsidiaries or complex organizational structures.Knowledge of payroll tax remittances and workers' compensation processes.Proven ability to improve payroll processes, reporting, and operational efficiency.
