This engineer will be the lead coordinating upgrades, enhancements, and functionality around the system. We need a true systems engineer, with exposure to ExtraHop or similar platforms (ex. AppDynamics, Darktrace, Vectra AI, Cisco Security Network Analytics, Stealthwatch, CPacket, Stamus, Arkime, Wireshark, tcpdump, Zeek, Suricata, Snort) with scripting experience (SQL, Javascript). This is a contract to hire role. Candidates will be considered without the exact experience if they have strong examples of being fast learners. Core ResponsibilitiesAdminister and support SolarWinds platform for enterprise-wide monitoring of:Network performanceServer healthApplication availabilityManage and optimize ExtraHop (Reveal(x)) for:Network traffic analysisThreat detection (NDR)Real-time visibility into system behaviorConfigure and maintain:Alerts, dashboards, and reporting for proactive monitoringIntegrations with other tools (SIEM, ticketing systems, etc.)Monitor system performance and investigate:Network latency, outages, and bottlenecksSuspicious or anomalous traffic patternsSupport incident response efforts by:Correlating infrastructure alerts (SolarWinds) with traffic behavior (ExtraHop)Assisting in root cause analysis for both performance and security issuesCollaborate with:Network Engineering teamsSecurity / SOC teamsInfrastructure and application teamsKey Platforms / ToolsSolarWinds (Orion Platform)Network Performance Monitor (NPM)Server & Application Monitor (SAM)ExtraHop (Reveal(x))Network Detection & Response (NDR)Traffic analysis and threat detection(Optional add-ons depending on candidate)Splunk / SIEM toolsWiresharkCisco / network infrastructure toolsSkill FocusNetwork monitoring & performance tuningInfrastructure observabilityNetwork traffic analysis (packet-level visibility)Threat detection & basic security investigationAlert tuning and dashboard creationIncident troubleshooting & root cause analysis
