Paint Specialist Full-Time
The Paint Specialistis responsible for sales performance in the paint department, ensuring salesgoals are being achieved. This includes all paint-related sales including sundries, liquid paint and other accessories as well as working with the store manager to ensure that we have a depth of product to serve our Ace for business customers as well as our retail customers. You will also help develop store employees as well as develop business strategies to meet goals and increase sales in a competitive marketplace. In this position, you will grow the company’s market share by selling to large, commercial users, such as paint contractors, as well as retail customers.
Responsibilities
Provide high standards of customer service and guide, assist, and walk customers throughout the paint department.
Develop businessstrategies to increase sales and optimize profitability
Handle customerorders and sales transactions
Meet sales goals by training, motivating, mentoring, and providing feedback to store employeess
Build and maintain knowledge of all products to ensure effective customer recommendations
Build positive relationships with wholesale and retail customers
Ensure compliance with policies and procedures including safety, loss prevention, and security
Maintain outstanding department conditions and visual merchandising standards, including promotional packages and sales floor displays
Respond to and resolve any customer and/or employee complaints
Make outside sales calls to increase market share
Assist with receiving, checking in and stocking of merchandise throughout the store
Assist with merchandise resets through the store
Assist with maintaining back stock levels
Possess strong product knowledge and knowledge of store layout and location of products
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
1-2 years’ experience in Retail/Selling paint and paint related products
Must have at least a High School diploma or GED
Having work experience using customer relationship management preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the business
Must have a valid, unrestricted Driver’s License
Physical Requirements
Employee must regularly move and/or lift 50lbs-75lbs
Ability to read, write, analyze, interpret and understand the English language with sufficient proficiency in order to read and understand
While performing the duties, the employee is regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, and color vision with the ability to adjust focus
Occasional travel may be required

Gerrity’s Ace currently has 5 locations and plans to open more in the future. We are affiliated with Ace Hardware Corporation based in Oak Brook, IL which is a retailer-owned hardware wholesaler that began operation in 1924.
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 / hour
