If you are passionate about making an impact on the health of others, join us and make it happen!About The RoleWe're on the lookout for a remote drug and alcohol counselor to join the leading digital clinic for substance addictions. As a key member of our counseling team, you'll play a crucial role in supporting and empowering individuals on their journey to overcome substance addictions. Your main objective will be guiding members towards leading addiction-free lives! Collaborating closely with our dynamic team, you'll contribute to the rapid growth of our business, gaining invaluable firsthand experience in scaling up a successful venture.This is a full-time, remote position with flexible working hours, open to candidates based anywhere in the U.S., provided they hold an active Michigan and/or North Carolina license.In This Role You WillProvide counseling to members on a weekly basis through text-based chat, video calls, and phone calls, to monitor their progress on their recovery journeyOnboard the users with an initial phone call and complete a multidimensional assessment to gather relevant behavioral health history and symptomsWork within Atlas, Pelago's AI-native EHR, which automates session documentation, surfaces real-time evidence-based guidance during calls, and prepares clinical context before each session — so your time stays focused on member care, not administrative liftMonitor the progress of members and offer therapeutic strategies on how to deal with temptations and cravingsBe supportive and encouraging to members to help them establish and sustain motivation to change their substance useCollaborate with other departments to ensure a positive experience for all members and provide valuable feedback to the product development teamUphold good standing with your active license(s)/certification(s)Attend team meetings and/or case discussions as scheduledHelp someone transform their life and the life of their family through their addiction recovery!The Background We Are Looking For Active, unrestricted license in good standing recognized in Michigan or North Carolina:Michigan: CADC or CAADCNorth Carolina: LCAS, CSAC, or CADCBachelors Degree required2+ years of clinical experience delivering CBT and/or behavioral support for substance use disorders (tobacco, alcohol, opioids)Comfort working in an AI-augmented care environment; openness to adopting AI-assisted tools that support documentation, member communication, and clinical decision-makingProficient with Motivational Interviewing (MI), Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET), MAT coordination, and Relapse PreventionProven ability to collaborate with cross-disciplinary healthcare teams (coaches, physicians, nurses)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsAdaptable in fast-moving environments; able to prioritize competing demandsTechnologically fluent; quick to learn new tools and platformsPreferred: Prior telehealth experience across multiple time zones and/or digital health settingsWhat You’ll Love About UsWe have a whole host of perks for our people! Individual pay within the range will vary based on a variety of factors like role-related experience and education, internal pay equity, and other relevant business factors. At Pelago, we are committed to an equitable and fair pay philosophy and review total compensation for our employees at least twice a year.Base Pay Range$59,000 - $66,000 USD
