Panel Design Engineering ManagerThis role leads a team of project engineers and designers supporting high-mix, custom electrical panel design and execution for protection and control systems, working closely with manufacturing, project management, supply chain, and customers.Essential Duties and Responsibilities1. Lead the panel design engineering function, ensuring team capacity, resource allocation, and execution plans align with project demand and priorities, and that technical deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and to quality expectations.2. Drive technical direction and standardization within the panel design discipline.3. Lead team planning, including capacity planning and development of the long-term strategy for the panel design discipline.4. Lead, hire, develop, and manage a team of engineers; set clear expectations, provide coaching, and ensure alignment with business and organizational goals.5. Represent engineering in customer engagements, design reviews, and cross-functional initiatives to improve quality, cost, and lead time.6. Model, teach, and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.7. Understand. Create. Simplify.8. Other duties as assigned.Required QualificationsB.S. in Engineering field or equivalent combination of education/experience8+ years of related engineering or management experienceDemonstrated experience managing engineering work within scope, schedule, and budget constraintsStrong technical knowledge in one or more engineering disciplines/technologiesDemonstrated ability to develop employees and lead high-performing teamsDemonstrated ability to design/produce/support successful products/processesAbility to lead technical decision-making and resolve complex engineering challengesStrong writing, documentation, and speaking skillsAbility to learn new skills and assume new responsibilitiesAbility to work cooperatively in a team environmentBackground check results satisfactory to SELNegative drug test result(s)Preferred QualificationsExperience with protection and control panel designKnowledge of applicable standards (IPC, UL, NEC, IEEE, IEC)Experience with design-for-manufacturability in panel production environmentsFamiliarity with SEL products and applicationsFormal project management training or certificationPhysical RequirementsNoneCompetitive Pay and BenefitsCompetitive pay. Starting pay is determined individually and considers factors such as relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and training. Candidates may be considered at different levels based on their background.
