With more than forty years of experience running mission-critical systems around the globe, Amdocs powers billions of transactions daily.Travel RequirementsNo travel required.LocationMiddletown, NJ or Atlanta, GA – employee must work out of the customer office 3 days a week.Job SummaryResponsible for the design, development, modification, debugging, and maintenance of software systems, working on specific modules, applications, or technologies, and handling sophisticated assignments during the software development process.Key ResponsibilitiesBe accountable for and own specific modules within an application, providing technical support and guidance during solution design for new requirements and problem resolution for critical/complex issues while ensuring code is maintainable, scalable, and supportable.Present demos of software products to partners and internal/external customers, using technical knowledge to influence product evolution.Investigate issues by reviewing and debugging code, providing fixes and workarounds, reviewing changes for operability, highlighting risks, and helping mitigate technical risks.Drive continuous improvements and efficiencies to software or business processes through automation, reuse of existing solutions, and reducing design complexity.Lead or participate in product/application/module/team discussions and technical design reviews, establishing relationships with internal customers and partners.Collaborate as part of an innovative team working on advanced technologies in a continuously improved environment.Qualifications5–7 years of experience as a software developer (advantage for specialization experience).Knowledge of Network Layer 2, 3, and 4.Experience with Python and Java.Advantage: experience with Temporal workflow, ServiceNow, device configuration using TL1/CLI commands, or Agile/SAFe programs.Bachelor's degree in Science, IT, Computing or equivalent and 7–8 years of experience as a software engineer or software support engineer.Awareness of programming concepts and ability to write code in at least one programming language.Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
