The role focuses on translating complex business logic and domain knowledge into structured, machine-readable representations that enable AI systems to reason effectively across commercial data.RequirementsHands-on experience with ontology and taxonomy modellingStrong knowledge of formal knowledge representation languages such as RDF and OWLPractical experience working with graph databases / knowledge graph technologiesAbility to translate business concepts, rules and relationships into structured, machine-readable representationsNice to HaveExperience within life sciences, pharmaceuticals, or commercial pharma environmentsUnderstanding of commercial data domains and their associated business processesResponsibilitiesDesign and develop enterprise ontologies and knowledge graphs, including entity hierarchies, relationship types and inference rules that enable AI systems to reason accurately across commercial data domainsTranslate business definitions, requirements and data models into machine-readable knowledge representations using technologies such as OWL and RDFWork closely with business SMEs to capture, structure and formalise domain knowledge and business logicCollaborate with data modellers and semantic engineers to ensure clear separation and alignment between the ontology, semantic data model and knowledge graphContribute to the development of scalable and maintainable knowledge structures that can support AI-driven applications and reasoningIdeal ProfileThe ideal candidate will combine strong semantic modelling and knowledge representation expertise with the ability to understand and formalise complex business domains. You should be comfortable working across technical and business teams and translating domain knowledge into structures that can be effectively consumed by AI systems.
