MuleSoft Architect/DeveloperLocation: Remote (Work From Home) — Texas state government clientContract Type: W2/C2C, Long TermPosition OverviewWe are seeking one (1) senior-level MuleSoft Architect/Developer to drive Anypoint Platform implementation for a Mainframe Transformation initiative, modernizing multiple legacy systems and data exchange protocols. This role owns the technical quality, governance, and operationalization of integration solutions, providing recommended solutions and roadmaps that consider scalability, performance, and risk. The candidate will work under general supervision with moderate latitude for independent judgment, translating functional and non-functional requirements into integration interfaces and implementations, and guiding the team on coding standards, peer review, and testing practices.ResponsibilitiesOversee deployment and platform architecture to support business needsGuide platform integration with wider technology strategy, platforms, and toolingProvide design input into deployment and automation pipelinesDeliver expert security, authentication, and governance guidanceAlign technology strategy and user requirements to the MuleSoft product roadmapOwn platform implementation, configuration, run best practices, and knowledge transferReview business and technology strategy to inform API strategy and maximize value realizedGuide API reuse approach; identify and design core system APIs and connectors for wide reuseOversee design of central assets and code snippets applied broadly (error handling, logging, caching, auto-discovery, etc.)Review project backlog and consumer requirements to inform platform strategy and enablement planConduct ad-hoc expert review of solution designs and implementationsPerform expert performance tuning and debugging as requiredDevelop, test, document, deploy, and maintain integration applications following industry-standard best practices, including review of others' or vendors' workBuild and maintain MuleSoft and other integrations connecting business applications (Java, Salesforce, C# with .NET Core, Oracle, GoAnywhere, among others)Work with MuleSoft Connectors and Flows using Anypoint Studio, including advanced synchronous/asynchronous messaging, streaming, and flow routingDevelop processes, diagrams, and flowcharts representing operations and data flow for applicationsPerform detailed analyses, designs, plans, diagrams, and verification procedures for existing and proposed applications and integrationsAct as subject matter expert for MuleSoft development, customization, configuration, and integrationCommunicate and collaborate with technical resources and stakeholders on status, technical issues, and solutionsImplement improvements and new functionality; deliver break/fix supportEnsure adherence to security, availability, confidentiality, and privacy policies and controlsAssist in generating or installing systems software; prepare implementation instructions and procedures as neededRequired Qualifications5+ years developing and testing web services (RESTful and SOAP-based) within MuleSoft or other languages4+ years hands-on experience designing secure, scalable APIs using Anypoint Exchange, Anypoint Design Center, Anypoint API Manager, Anypoint Runtime Manager, Anypoint Studio, Data Gateway, and Access Management3+ years hands-on experience with DataWeave 2.0 programming and building applications in Mule 4 on CloudHub2+ years excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences and producing accurate documentation2+ years working in fast-paced, ever-changing environments; meeting project deliverables/deadlines; exercising sound judgment on critical decisions; analyzing complex information and developing plans2+ years practical experience with CloudHub and Anypoint Platform as an ESB and deployment pointPreferred Qualifications4+ years' knowledge/experience with Database, File, and Sockets connectors;
