OVERVIEW: A Survey Project Manager prepares proposals, contracts, and reports, meets with clients, performs survey work in the field, as well as supervises and schedules in-office and field employees and tasks.DURING YOUR WORK DAY, YOU WILL:Manage projects including developing scope of work, schedule and fee. Balance workload and resources. Support business development efforts, leading the preparation of proposals.Recruit, hire, manage, mentor, and retain staff necessary to maintain and/or improve the team's ability to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to scope, while maximizing team efficiency, improving communication, and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction by maintaining high-quality standards; at the same time, fostering a productive, engaged, and positive workplace culture.Develop and maintain existing client relationships. Serve as key contact with clients.Network and develop new business.Conduct critical negotiations and handle controversial issues. Exercise skill in persuading and negotiating on critical issues. Demonstrate good judgment in handling and solving complex technical and people assignments.Call on extensive knowledge of standard practices for land surveying. Individually be able to carry out complex or novel assignments requiring the development and implementation of new or improved techniques or procedures.Successfully supervise a project team on projects of all sizes and levels of complexity; ensure that all aspects of the project are followed through to completion which includes clients meetings, project team communication, budget and progress monitoring, and A/R collections.Provide technical, design and project management services in support of surveying; be generally recognized as an expert in the field.Be involved in professional organizations, professional development and mentoring of staff. Maintain a network of relationships within the field.WHAT YOU'LL NEED: Louisiana Survey License, PSM or the ability to obtain LA licensure quickly, if licensed in another state.5 plus years of post-licensure experience with at least 2 of those in management.Proficient with MS Word and Excel as well as Autocad/Civil3D.A valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record.WHAT WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUT:Louisiana Department of Transportation project design experience.Survey licensure in multiple states.Experience with Bentley Microstation GeoPak/Open Roads Designer.Experience in Hydrographics.Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit.Excellent problem-solving skills.Motivated to learn and develop your career path.Aligned to McKim & Creed's core values and culture.Sound functional/technical skills in the role.WHAT WE OFFER: Ranked as one of the Best Firms to Work For, you will be joining a company that puts its employees first.
