This is a hands-on role focused on mechanical design utilizing SolidWorks for 3D Modeling and AutoCAD for 2D drawings in a fast-paced setting. You will work with our Clients, Project Managers, Engineers, and Field Teams while gaining exposure to real-world industrial systems.Responsibilities & DutiesAssist with mechanical engineering design for industrial and steel mill facilitiesDevelop and modify 3D models, layouts, and drawings using SolidWorksSupport ongoing projects through design development, coordination, and construction supportCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated project solutionsAssist in reviewing installation of equipment and systems for compliance with design documents with guidance from senior engineers Support multiple projects within established schedules and deadlinesContribute to feasibility studies and conceptual layouts for industrial systemsSupport development of contract documents, technical specifications, and fabrication drawingsReview vendor and fabricator submittals with guidance from senior engineersParticipate in site visits to industrial facilities to support design and field coordinationPerform all work in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with safety standardsAct as a positive representative of the company and its core valuePerform other duties as assignedJob RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline1-3 years of relevant experience, including internship or co-op experience in an industrial or mechanical design environment Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or progress toward it is a plusSolidWorks experience required (academic and/or professional experience accepted)Basic knowledge of mechanical design, equipment layout, and fabrication drawingsExposure to industrial or manufacturing is a plus, but not requiredFamiliarity with construction documents or shop drawings is preferredStrong willingness to learn, take direction, and grow technical skillsAbility to visit and safely navigate active industrial and construction sites while following safety requirements Investing In Your FutureWe offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well-being and career growth:Health, dental, and vision insuranceFlexible spending accounts & health savings account401(k) options (Traditional and Roth)Paid parental leaveLife & AD&D insuranceShort- and long-term disabilityWellness program with reimbursement benefitsOur Commitment to InclusionAt DLZ, diversity isn’t just a policy—it’s a priority.
