The ideal candidate will have strong litigation experience, exceptional legal writing and analytical skills, and the ability to independently manage complex business disputes from inception through trial.Key ResponsibilitiesLegal Expertise & Strategic SupportProvide high-level legal advice and analysis in complex litigation matters, particularly business and commercial disputesOffer strategic input on case development, motion practice, and trial preparationAdvise on declaratory judgment actions, including initiating and defending such claims in state and federal courtsDeclaratory ActionsHandle matters involving declaratory relief in breach of contract, tortious interference, insurance disputes, and other business-related litigationDraft and review declaratory pleadings, analyze legal issues requiring judicial clarification, and develop litigation strategies based on likely court interpretationsLitigation SupportManage cases from pre-litigation through trialDraft pleadings, motions, discovery, legal memoranda, and dispositive motionsConduct legal research and evaluate evidence and legal theoriesConduct depositions, mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and court appearancesProvide second-chair trial support or oversee specific phases of litigation as neededClient RelationsServe as a trusted legal advisor to firm clients, particularly in complex or high-stakes mattersMaintain regular communication with clients regarding case developments, legal risks, and potential outcomesSupport settlement negotiations and dispute resolution effortsMentorship & CollaborationCollaborate with partners and legal staff to ensure high-quality legal servicesParticipate in internal strategy sessions and contribute to firm knowledge and best practicesMentor junior attorneys and support team development when neededCompliance & Risk ManagementEnsure all legal actions align with ethical obligations, procedural requirements, and client expectationsIdentify and flag potential risks in ongoing or prospective litigation mattersRequirementsJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law schoolActive Texas Bar license preferred3+ years of experience in business litigation or commercial litigationStrong understanding of civil litigation procedures in state and federal courtsExperience handling breach of contract, shareholder disputes, partnership disputes, business torts, tortious interference, insurance disputes, and declaratory judgment actionsTrial preparation and courtroom experience preferredExcellent legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environmentPreferred Keywords for Smart SourcingBusiness Litigation Attorney, Commercial Litigation Attorney, Civil Litigation Attorney, Trial Attorney, Litigation Counsel, Corporate Litigation, Declaratory Judgment Actions, Declaratory Relief, Business Disputes, Breach of Contract, Tortious Interference, Insurance Litigation, Shareholder Disputes, Partnership Disputes, Business Torts, Motion Practice, Dispositive Motions, Depositions, Discovery, Arbitration, Mediation, Trial Preparation, Court Hearings, Federal Court Litigation, State Court Litigation, Complex Litigation, Legal Research, Drafting Pleadings, Case Strategy, Litigation Associate, Attorney at Law, Texas Bar, Commercial Disputes, Trial Support, High-Stakes Litigation.BenefitsCompetitive compensationOpportunity to work on sophisticated litigation mattersCollaborative and supportive legal teamProfessional growth and advancement opportunitiesFast-paced and dynamic work environmentHealth Insurance
