Automation Engineer

We're seeking a Sr. Automation Engineer for our client's Manufacturing Technology & Transfer (MTT) team to lead liquid handling automation in consumables manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will own the full lifecycle — from proof-of-concept to validation — in a regulated GMP setting. Must have experience with Automated Liquid Handling Systems and Software integration with LIMS/MES.Type: W2 ContractStart Date: April 1, 2026End Date: December 31, 2026Pay Rate: $52.00 – $64.75/hr W2 plus benefitsWhat You'll DoAutomation & DevelopmentOwns the full implementation of liquid handling automation systems in regulated lab and manufacturing settingsDevelops complex scripts and recovery methods for new assays/workflows, including error handling, custom liquid classes, and simulation runsValidation & QualityValidates automated applications to ensure accuracy, precision, and repeatabilityApplies structured problem-solving to overcome technical roadblocks in system deploymentProcess ImprovementDrives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance and end-user experienceProvides ongoing technical support and troubleshooting for protocols and instrumentationDocumentation & TrainingDevelops and maintains comprehensive documentation, training materials, and internal process guidesDelivers software and hardware training to internal customers at all skill levelsStrategy & CollaborationInfluences project and program decisions at critical cross-functional interfacesStays current on industry developments, emerging technologies, and regulatory expectations to guide long-term automation strategyRequirementsHands-on expertise with liquid handling platforms (Hamilton, Tecan, Beckman, Agilent, Lynx, etc.) and peripheral integrationDeep knowledge of method development, error recovery, liquid class optimization, and LIMS/MES integrationProficiency in C# and/or PythonStrong troubleshooting skills with a track record of resolving production-critical issuesFamiliarity with SDLC and validation procedures in regulated environmentsAbility to manage vendors, contractors, and project timelines independentlyClear communicator across technical and non-technical audiencesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, or Computer Science + 5 years of experience OR Master's degree + 3 years ORPhD (no experience required) OREquivalent work experience consideredPlease apply today!
