Located in St. Petersburg, FL, the team is committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families affected by disability.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site role for a Social Security Disability Paralegal at The Law Offices of Nancy L. Cavey in St. Petersburg, FL. The Paralegal will manage client files, prepare and review legal documents, conduct research, assist attorneys in case preparation, and communicate with clients, medical professionals, and government agencies. Additionally, they will work to ensure that all deadlines and procedural requirements related to Social Security Disability claims are met accurately and efficiently.QualificationsExpertise in Law and foundational knowledge of Social Security Disability regulationsProficiency in Legal Document Preparation and Document ReviewStrong Communication skills, including the ability to build rapport with clients, medical professionals, and legal teamsStrong Research skills relevant to legal case preparationAttention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple cases effectivelyProficiency in using legal software and case management systems is preferredPrior experience in Social Security Disability law or related legal fields is highly desirableKey Performance Metrics 1. Time to File Complete • Initial/Appeal File: < 5 Business Days Goal: Measure the number of business days from the date of client intake or receipt of a denial notice until the complete, signed application or appeal is electronically filed with the SSA. 2. Complete Hearing Packets • Target: 98% Completion Rate Goal: Measure the percentage of cases where the final Hearing Packet (including all medical records, vocational evidence, exhibits, and pre-hearing brief/memo) is fully complete and organized prior to the ALJ hearing. 3. Medical Evidence Retrieval Rate • Target: ≥ 90% Within 60 Days Goal: Measure the percentage of outstanding medical evidence requests that are successfully secured and filed within 60 days of the request date. 4.
