We have an opportunity for an Electrical Systems Applications Engineer to work onsite in Auburn Hills, MI.What You’ll Be DoingThis role will support controller hardware applications and vehicle systems integration activities across multiple vehicle programs. The engineer will work cross-functionally with engineering, software, controls, validation, and release teams to help support issue resolution, integration activities, and program execution.The ideal candidate will have a background in automotive electrical systems, controls, or module integration and be comfortable working in a fast-paced engineering environment.ResponsibilitiesSupport controller hardware application and integration activities for vehicle programsAssist with issue investigation, root cause tracking, and resolution coordinationWork with cross-functional teams including software, controls, validation, DREs, and suppliersSupport requirements tracking and program execution activitiesParticipate in system and interface reviews including DFMEA and validation reviewsAssist with electrical system integration activities including CAN communication and EE architecture coordinationTrack open issues, action items, and engineering changesSupport documentation updates, lessons learned, and engineering reporting activitiesParticipate in vehicle integration and technical review meetingsWhat You’ll NeedRequiredBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field3–5 years of automotive engineering experiencePrior experience supporting vehicle electrical systems, modules, or controls integration activitiesFamiliarity with CAN communication systems and automotive electrical architectureExperience working in a cross-functional engineering environmentStrong organizational and communication skillsPreferredExposure to controller modules such as ECM, TCM, BCM, or EV-related controllersExperience supporting validation, testing, or issue resolution activitiesUnderstanding of DFMEA, DRBFM, or automotive development processesExperience working with suppliers and vehicle program teamsThis version changes the candidate pool dramatically.Instead of attracting:senior systems engineerstechnical leadsprincipal integration engineers…it will attract:junior/mid-level DREsvalidation engineersEE integration support engineerscontrols/application engineerspeople trying to move up into systems work
