Compliance Coordinator (San Diego)
A well-established manufacturing and construction company is seeking an experienced Compliance Coordinator to join its team in an in-person role based in San Diego, California. This position supports both subcontract billing and subcontract compliance functions across multiple projects and requires a detail-oriented professional who can work independently, maintain accurate records, and collaborate effectively with internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors.Key ResponsibilitiesSubcontract BillingsAudit and enter subcontract billings weekly with accuracy and in accordance with contractual requirementsReview subcontract terms and agreements to evaluate billing implicationsResolve billing discrepancies and follow up on incomplete information, clarifications, and documentation issuesPrepare and process weekly check selections for paymentMail checks on a weekly basisReview and verify Certificates of Insurance to confirm compliance with contract requirements and validity of documentationRequest and manage monthly payment releases for subcontractors and third-tier vendors across multiple projectsMonitor and track preliminary noticesRequest and track sub-tier listsMaintain organized records of billings, compliance documentation, and subcontractor communicationsRequest bonds and riders as needed and maintain related documentationUse billing and payment platforms such as Textura and GC Pay to manage workflows and recordsPartner with project teams, subcontractors, vendors, and finance teams to resolve billing questions and issuesPerform other duties as assignedSubcontract ComplianceCoordinate with subcontractors to ensure compliance with labor requirements throughout the project lifecycleImplement and monitor risk management strategies to reduce labor-related issuesCommunicate with internal departments, subcontractors, and external agencies regarding labor compliance mattersProcess labor compliance documentation, including DAS 140, DAS 142, Fringe Benefit Statements, apprentice status letters, monthly fringe payment reports, apprentice certificates, affidavits of completion, and skilled and trained workforce reportsDownload applicable wage determinations and establish appropriate wage rates and fringe benefits for new prevailing wage projectsAddress and resolve labor compliance issues in a timely mannerSet clear labor compliance expectations with contractors at project startupReview public contracts for special labor requirements, including certified payroll, skilled labor, local hire, diversity requirements, and related stipulationsAudit submitted documentation for accuracy and compliance and work directly with subcontractors to resolve findingsQualificationsHigh school diploma required4 or more years of experience in a similar role within the manufacturing and/or construction industry preferredWorking knowledge of certified payroll software such as LCP Tracker, eMars, eComply, Elation, or DIRWorking knowledge of billing and release platforms such as Textura, GC Pay, or ProcoreCompensationThe starting hourly base pay for this role is between $32.00 and $40.00 per hour.
