Production Engineer
Day‑to‑DayA well‑established and growing industrial manufacturing company is bringing on a Production Engineer to first support the shop schedule during a planned scheduler outage, then transition into a heavier Engineering or Project Management role in January. This position is critical to maximizing machine utilization, meeting customer commitments, and aligning engineering, production, and project management during an ERP transition from Airtable to Genius ERP. You will own the global shop schedule, allocating blocks of machine time across multiple work centers and sequencing jobs from station to station. This role partners closely with Project Managers, Engineering, and Senior Shop Staff to validate routings, estimate labor hours, and resolve scheduling conflicts.This is a 6 month contract to hire (long term position) which will convert to a permanent role. Due to increased company growth, you will be able to network and decide during this time if you are leaning more towards Design Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Project Management, or otherwise. All directions have similar backgrounds and will be a need for the company this year.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the master production schedule across all shop machinesAllocate and adjust blocks of machine hours to maximize utilizationReview and validate engineering releases and routings before productionPartner with senior shop personnel to estimate labor and machine hoursSequence jobs logically from station to station across the shop floorNegotiate priorities and delivery dates with Project Managers when conflicts ariseMaintain and update schedules within Airtable; support migration to Genius ERPIdentify constraints, solve scheduling problems, and communicate changes clearly Must‑HavesBachelor's Degree in Engineering6 months Professional or internship experience with production scheduling, manufacturing planning, or shop floor coordinationStrong interpersonal skills (regular PM interaction)Ability to think in process steps, constraints, and sequencingHighly organized with strong problem‑solving instinctsOpen and trainable mindset
