Control System Engineer - REMOTE (Location specific - must reside in SoCal or near Orlando, FL)Thriving systems integration company in Southern California, catering to process automation and automated manufacturing markets, needs an experienced Controls Engineer. Qualified candidates will have the opportunity to develop their technical skillset across a broad range of automation technology, work in a variety of industrial environments for numerous Fortune 500 companies and develop industry-specific expertise. Only 15% overnight travel, the rest is regional and will have you sleeping in your own bed at night!Job Location: Work remotely in Southern CA or Orlando, FL Earn travel time pay on top of salary for local travel!Responsibilities:Experience with creating and editing electrical drawings and CAD software such as Eplan or AutoCAD ElectricalKnowledge of practical/fundamental wiring practices for industrial control systems up to 600VAC motor power circuits, controls, discrete and analog signaling devices.Experience in electrical control system design and engineering for machinery, including programming, start-up and debugging processes.Experience with PLC Logic using Rockwell, Beckhoff, Siemens, ABB or equivalent.Experience with Factory Talk ME/SE/Optix and other HMI products.Experience with ISO13849 and Functional Machine SafetyPerform onsite programming and electrical troubleshooting service calls with existing automation equipment including VFDs, Servo Drives, PLCs, HMIs, Sensors, Relays, Motors, etc.Manage automation project complete lifecycleComfortable working with a variety of automation hardware and software platformsDevelop electrical Bill of Materials and appropriately size electrical components in a controls enclosureCreate controls architectural layoutsInterpret and redline electrical schematicsCommunicate with customers and team members in a timely and professional mannerSkillsets and Qualifications3-5 years of experience as a controls engineerEngineering DegreeStrong understanding and the ability to develop PLC & HMI applicationsProven collaborator; able to leverage individual strengths to provide value to the entire team and customersExcellent verbal and written communication skillsWrite detailed service reportsAbility to read, markup, and modify electrical schematics in .pdf formatHands-on experience with low voltage (480V and below) electrical applicationsExperience with the following automation disciplines: PLC Programming / HMI Development / Variable Frequency Drives / Motion Control / Industrial Networks / SensorsAbility to develop and grow strong customer relationshipsConsistently takes initiative and efficiently manages scheduleSolid problem-solving skills and displays acts of resourcefulnessTravel will be about 15% local, 15% nationally
