APIGEE Engineer Location: Dallas, TX (Hybrid ) Position Summary We are seeking an experienced APIGEE Engineer to design, develop, and support API management solutions in a large-scale enterprise environment . The engineer will be responsible for API proxy development, API gateway configuration, security policies, and end-to-end API lifecycle management using Google Apigee. Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and implement API proxies on Google Apigee API Management Platform .Configure API security including OAuth 2.0, JWT, API Keys, Mutual TLS, and Traffic Management Policies .Work with backend services and design API flows for high performance and scalability.Manage API lifecycle: versioning, publishing, monitoring, and retirement.Troubleshoot API defects, latency issues, and integration problems.Create custom policies using JavaScript, Python, Java , and Apigee policies.Work closely with development, security, and architecture teams to ensure alignment with Telecommunication standards.Implement CI/CD pipelines for API deployment using Jenkins, Git, and Apigee deployment tools.Design and maintain API analytics dashboards and reporting.Develop and maintain documentation: API specs, design guides, and architecture diagrams.Ensure compliance with Telecommunication's governance, security, and audit policies. Required Skills & Experience5-8+ years of experience in API development and integration.3-5+ years hands-on experience with Google Apigee (Edge or X) .Strong understanding of REST APIs , microservices architecture, and enterprise-level integrations.Experience implementing API policies (Spike Arrest, Quota, CORS, OAuth, JWT, Key Validation).Proficiency in JavaScript , Node.js , or Java for API transformations.Knowledge of cloud platforms (GCP preferred; AWS/Azure is a plus).Integration experience with APIs, SOAP services, and backend microservices.Familiarity with CI/CD using Jenkins, GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.Experience with API security & authentication standards .Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities. Preferred QualificationsGoogle Apigee Certification or GCP Cloud Certification.Understanding of telecom domain or prior experience with Telecommunication enterprise APIs.Experience with Kubernetes, Istio, or service mesh technologies.Knowledge of API observability tools (Splunk, Dynatrace, New Relic).
