Solar InstallerThe Solar Installer is responsible for the safe and efficient installation of residential and small commercial solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. This role supports all aspects of the installation process, including mounting solar panels, assembling system components, and ensuring systems are installed in accordance with design specifications, electrical codes, and safety standards.The ideal candidate is hands-on, comfortable working outdoors and at heights, and has a strong interest in renewable energy and sustainable technologies.Key ResponsibilitiesSolar System InstallationInstall rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems according to engineering plansAssemble and secure racking systems, solar panels, and mounting hardwareAssist with inverter installation, wiring, and system connections under supervisionSite Preparation & LayoutPrepare job sites, including measuring, marking, and staging materialsInterpret basic system designs, layouts, and blueprintsEnsure proper alignment and spacing of solar arraysElectrical & System Integration SupportAssist licensed electricians with electrical connections and conduit runsSupport installation of inverters, disconnects, and monitoring systemsEnsure installations meet NEC (National Electrical Code) and local requirementsSafety & ComplianceFollow all OSHA safety standards and company safety proceduresUse fall protection equipment and maintain a safe work environmentConduct job site clean-up and ensure proper disposal of materialsQuality Control & TroubleshootingInspect installations to ensure quality and compliance with project specificationsIdentify and report installation issues or defectsAssist with system testing and commissioningRequirementsHigh school diploma or GED1+ years of experience in: construction, roofing, electrical, or solar installation (preferred but not required)Ability to work at heights (rooftops, ladders) and lift 50+ lbsValid driver's license and reliable transportationBasic knowledge of hand and power toolsPreferred QualificationsExperience with solar PV installationsOSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certificationNABCEP (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) certification (or willingness to obtain)Basic electrical knowledge or experience assisting electriciansPhysical RequirementsAbility to work outdoors in varying weather conditionsFrequent climbing, bending, kneeling, and liftingComfortable working on rooftops and uneven terrain
