Yard Loader Operator
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Rubber Tire Loader Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating heavy, rubber-tired equipment to load bulk materials (soil, gravel, sand) into trucks strictly adhering to company policies and safety guidelines. This role requires someone who is safety conscience, has an attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members.
Responsibilities
Typical job duties include but are not limited to:
· Safely and efficiently operate a rubber-tire front-end loader to lift, transport, and load bulk aggregate materials (such as rock and sand) to and from various areas.
Load trucks with assigned material, ensuring proper fill levels ensuring no trucks leave the yard overloaded.
Build, turn, and maintain stockpiles of raw materials, keeping the yard clean and organized.
Maneuver rubber tire loaders in tight areas and ensure precise material placement.
Perform and document daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, checking fluid levels, grease components and reporting any mechanical deficiencies to management and/or the maintenance shop.
Responsible for loading materials as well as receiving/shipping duties, etc.
Keep the rubber-tire front-end loader clean both inside and outside.
Load materials into dump trucks.
Monitor performance as required to complete tasks timely and correctly.
Ensure safety equipment is available and in good working condition.
Assist with all aspects of the job including basic labor responsibilities.
Must be able to take instructions and guidance from supervisors and management.
Other duties may be assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
Minimum qualifications:
Minimum one (1) year previous experience with a rubber-tire front-end loader or other types of heavy mobile equipment required.
Verifiable Pugmill experience.
Ability to work in various weather conditions, lift, and perform physically demanding work.
Knowledge of machinery maintenance and ability to use basic hand tools.
Strict adherence to safety protocols, including PPE usage and situational awareness of blind spots.
Must demonstrate excellent safety awareness, and a willingness to comply with all company policies and safety standards.
Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings (drug test), and background checks.
Ability and willingness to learn.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Good communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external customers.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience in the civil construction industry.
Basic knowledge of truck maintenance and inspection.
A heavy equipment operator certification.
A valid Texas issued commercial driver’s license; CDL Class B or A operator’s license.
Working Conditions:
Ability to lift, pull, and push a minimum of 50 lbs., bend, stoop, kneel, reach, squat, twist, and climb and ability to sit for an extended period.
Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, loud noises, and working outdoors.
Must be able to wear protective equipment while on the job, as necessary.
