IT Cable Technician (On-Site/Field)

Job DescriptionThis full-time position is based at BCS365 Headquarters in Rockland, MA, and requires daily commute to Rockland.Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PMStart/end times may vary depending on client needsEstablishes communications systems by installing, operating, and maintaining voice and data telecommunications network circuits and equipment.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesCapable of reading customer orders, plans, manuals, blue prints and technical specifications in order to install network and communication cables. Installation and terminating communications cables in accordance with industry standards including; category 5E, 6, 6A, RG6, paging speakers and fiber. Installing telecommunications equipment, switches, wireless access points and cable trays. Certify service by testing circuits and equipment; identifying, correcting, or escalating problems. Document network by labeling and routing equipment and cables according to industry standards. Record configuration diagrams and specifications. Maintains network by troubleshooting and repairing outages; testing network back-up procedures; updating documentation. Maintain safe work environment by following codes, standards, and legal regulations. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications. Competencies, Skills, And QualificationsMust be fully capable of lifting cable reels, climbing ladders, operating scissor and boom liftsValid driver’s licenseMust be capable of identifying full range of colors.
