The Laborist team supports rapidly growing suburban communities and prioritizes safety, teamwork, and a supportive culture that promotes work-life balance.IU Health is seeking a Board Eligible OB Hospitalist to join our established Labor & Delivery team, providing comprehensive inpatient obstetric care, managing antepartum and postpartum patients, supporting midwives, and responding to obstetric emergencies within a well-equipped and collegial environment. This full-time position also includes leadership responsibilities as Laborist Medical Director, providing clinical oversight and contributing to strategic program development across all three campuses.Position HighlightsProvide continuous inpatient obstetric care on Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, and Postpartum unitsEvaluate and manage OB/GYN consultations from the ED and inpatient unitsSupport the OBED during high-volume or high-acuity periodsServe as operative backup for CNMs, including operative vaginal delivery, advanced laceration repair, and cesarean sectionsPerform SVDs, operative vaginal deliveries, VBAC management, and C-sectionsParticipate in urgent nighttime GYN surgeries as needed, with GYN backup availableCollaborate closely with nursing, anesthesiology, MFM, neonatology, and hospital leadershipLead quality, safety, and performance initiatives across the Laborist programSupport scheduling, staffing, communication initiatives, and protocol developmentParticipate in physician recruitment, onboarding, and provider engagementRepresent the Laborist team in departmental and hospital committeesOptional teaching opportunities with rotating medical studentsCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive, market-based compensation aligned with OB Laborist practiceAdditional stipend for Medical Director administrative responsibilitiesShift-based model supporting strong work-life balanceQuality and performance incentivesSign-on bonus for qualified candidatesRelocation assistance availableForgivable loan program for eligible physiciansComprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement with employer matchOccurrence-based malpractice coverage beginning day oneQualificationsMD/DO from an accredited institutionBoard Certified in Obstetrics & GynecologyEligible for Indiana medical licensureLeadership experience preferred but not requiredFellowship not required
