IU Health is seeking a Board EligibleOB Hospitalistto join our established Labor & Delivery team, providing comprehensive inpatient obstetric care, managing antepartum and postpartum patients, supporting midwives, and responding to obstetric emergencies within a well-equipped and collegial environment. This full-time position also includes leadership responsibilities as Laborist Medical Director, providing clinical oversight and contributing to strategic program development across all three campuses. Position Highlights Provide continuous inpatient obstetric care on Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, and Postpartum units Evaluate and manage OB/GYN consultations from the ED and inpatient units Support the OBED during high-volume or high-acuity periods Serve as operative backup for CNMs, including operative vaginal delivery, advanced laceration repair, and cesarean sections Perform SVDs, operative vaginal deliveries, VBAC management, and C-sections Participate in urgent nighttime GYN surgeries as needed, with GYN backup available Collaborate closely with nursing, anesthesiology, MFM, neonatology, and hospital leadership Lead quality, safety, and performance initiatives across the Laborist program Support scheduling, staffing, communication initiatives, and protocol development Participate in physician recruitment, onboarding, and provider engagement Represent the Laborist team in departmental and hospital committees Optional teaching opportunities with rotating medical students Compensation & Benefits Competitive, market-based compensation aligned with OB Laborist practice Additional stipend for Medical Director administrative responsibilities Shift-based model supporting strong work-life balance Quality and performance incentives Sign-on bonus for qualified candidates Relocation assistance available Forgivable loan program for eligible physicians Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement with employer match Occurrence-based malpractice coverage beginning day one Qualifications MD/DO from an accredited institution Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology Eligible for Indiana medical licensure Leadership experience preferred but not required Fellowship not required
