Maintenance Electrician 1

Position SummaryMaintains electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment by performing the following duties.Primary Duties & ResponsibilitiesIncludes the following although other duties may be assigned -Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers to diagnose malfunction and make required repairs.Replaces faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices.Troubleshoot and maintain electrical control systems.Troubleshoot and repair all AC and DC motors and controls, pressure sensing devices, voltage current, and resistance measurement devices.Troubleshoot and repair plant lighting 480V, 207V and 110V circuits; 480V cranes; PLC based controls and relay logic circuits.Monitor furnace status and light furnaces.Trains and oversees electrical projects as directed by supervisory personnel.Required SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of Company.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Ability to read and understand electrical schematic DWG.Experience & EducationFive to seven years related experience and/or training equivalent to a journeyman rating in a manufacturing environment.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
