Commissioning Services Engineer

About the Role
The Commissioning Services Engineer shall provide General Architectural and Engineering Services (GAES) to perform photometric analyses, perform design lighting upgrades, and prepare construction documents for the installation of new light-emitting diode (LED) lighting at three (3) Metrorail Stations as part of WMATA’s Site Lighting Replacement Program. Individual must be able to demonstrate familiarity with power systems for buildings and facilities.
Key Responsibilities
The scope of work shall include, but not be limited to, the following responsibilities:
Daytoday technical guidance in the field of Electrical Engineering design, solutions delivery, plans portfolio of projects in various stages of delivery, from development through design, bidding, construction, and close out.
Perform analysis and inspections on the electrical design work, installations and test reports
Ensuring timely completion of projects within scope, schedule, and budget.
Ensure all required permits or agreements with regulatory authorities are secured.
Provide periodic reporting to various teams, including executive management.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field;
A minimum of seven (7) years of overall professional experience in design of electrical systems;
Must have a valid driver’s license
Demonstrated experience with largescale electrical systems projects including switchgear replacements;
In lieu of a degree, a minimum of ten (10) years of work experience in related field, of which two (2) years shall be in the transportation industry;
Knowledge of NEC, UL508 and other relevant standards;
Ability to obtain OSHA10 Construction certification;
Must be able to successfully complete WMATAs Railway Worker Protection Certification (RWP) Class;
Excellent verbal/written communication skills, and strong technical writing skills; and Proficient in MS Office Suite and ProCore.
