Fundamental Pharmacy Technician

Fundamental Pharmacy Technician Duties: Assist the pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians in the performance of clerical, technical and non-professional functions in the provision of pharmaceutical services to patients, staff and physicians. The Delivery Pharmacy Technician works under the supervision of the Pharmacist-on-duty. Deliver medication to nursing units and outpatient areas with the hospital. Processes printed medication orders and stock medication request as needed. Processes medication trays when needed. Answers telephone calls and responds to customer service window. Replaces returned medication to appropriate storage areas. Monitors par levels, reorders, and medications when needed. Repackage pharmaceutical into unit dose packages. Fundamental Pharmacy Technician Requirements: High School or Equivalent (GED) Entry Level Certification as a Pharmacy Technician within 12 months is recommended but not required. Must have knowledge of pharmacy. Must exhibit a working knowledge of drug names, doses, strengths, and formulations. Must successfully complete Pharmacy Technician competency programs through on-the-job exposure. Salary Range: $14.15 to 21.00/hr (based on experience) Night and Evening Shift differential available
