Human Resources Manager

We’re looking for an experienced HR Manager to join our team! In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting and advancing First Northern Bank’s HR programs and initiatives. Partnering closely with leaders across the organization, you’ll help foster a compliant, collaborative and high-performing workplace while aligning HR practices with our core values and business goals.Responsibilities IncludeHR Operations and business supportPartner with department managers to support employee relations, performance management and HR policy guidanceSupport implementation of HR initiatives aligned with the Bank’s strategic objectivesDirectly supervise the HR staff; responsible for supporting team members through coaching, guidance and performance management in alignment with company policies and applicable lawsProvide guidance to managers on employee relations matters, including performance issues, workplace concerns and policy interpretationConduct or assist with workplace investigations and recommend appropriate resolutionsOversee recruitment processes including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination and hiring supportPartner with managers to identify staffing needs and support recruitment effortsDevelop and implement leadership development and learning initiativesEnsure new hire onboarding programs are delivered consistently and effectivelyAdministers the benefit compensation programs, including but not limited to payroll, salary adjustments, incentive plans, profit sharing and pay grade structuresResponsible for conducting regular market benchmarking review and participates in compensation surveys to ensure internal and external competitivenessEnsure HR policies and procedures remain compliant with applicable federal and California employment lawsEnsure compliance with applicable banking regulations, laws and policiesEnsure maintenance of HRIS data integrity and support reporting needsMonitor HR metrics and assist with reporting and analyticsWhat You’ll Need To Be SuccessfulAdaptability – you can adapt to changes in the work environment while maintaining effectivenessAnalytical Skills – you possess strong critical thinking skills and can analyze a problem to develop a solutionCoaching – you'll provide timely guidance and feedback to help others strengthen the specific knowledge/skill needed to accomplish a task or solve a problemCollaboration – you can work well with other departments and individualsCommunication – you are precise and exact when delivering information and open to questionsInitiative – you have a willingness and demonstration of professional development and continual learning, striving to continuously build knowledge and skills and share expertise with othersJudgment and Discretion – you maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, exercise independent judgment in decision making and exhibit sound and accurate judgementLeadership – you exercise personal and professional responsibility while working with limited directionProfessionalism – you approach others in a tactful manner, react well under pressure or in difficult situations and treat others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or positionService – you promptly respond to requests for service and assistance and meet commitments made to othersQualificationsBachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field requiredMinimum of five years of progressive HR experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of management experience, requiredPrior experience supporting core HR operations, including employee relations, recruitment, and HR program administration, is requiredStrong working knowledge of California employment lawExperience working in a regulated environment preferred (banking or financial services plus)Familiarity with HRIS systems (ProLiant experience a plus)Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships with managers and employeesDemonstrated ability to handle confidential matters with professionalism and discretionWhy You Should ApplyFull-time position with excellent compensation and benefits packageGenerous time off programsBonus programProfit-sharingDiscounted stock purchase programExcellent growth and development opportunitiesAnd much more!Pay Range (Salary): $95,000.00 - $110,000.00/yearThe purpose of this job description is to provide a summary of duties related to the position.
