You will be responsible to lead the enhancement, maintenance, and modernization of Insurance applications. This role will act as a technical lead within one or more agile scrum teams, owning components or modules of complex Insurance systems.The ideal candidate will provide hands‐on engineering leadership, mentor junior developers, partner closely with product owners and architects, and offer advanced troubleshooting support to production support and peer development teams. This role requires strong engineering depth, system‐level thinking, and the ability to influence technical direction across teams.Why This Role Is Important to UsActs as the first line of technical ownership for Insurance accounting platform, enabling rapid triage and resolution of production incidents impacting clients and operations.Ensures client‐critical accounting workflows remain stable by prioritizing fixes based on business impact, risk, and regulatory sensitivity.Partners closely with production support and business teams to reduce incident recurrence through root‐cause analysis and permanent remediation.Maintains client confidence by balancing fast response times with controlled, low‐risk application changes.What you will be responsible forAs an Application Development lead, you will:Participate in functional and technical requirements gathering, ensuring solutions meet business, scalability, and resilience expectationsLead BAU development and maintenance activities, including defect resolution, enhancements and improvementsProvide hands‐on support for complex production issues, partnering with L2/L3 support teams to perform root‐cause analysis and permanent fixesIdentify issues and implement solutions to complex, cross‐application problems, addressing performance, reliability, security, and maintainability concernsReview and approve design and code changes with a strong focus on risk management and backward compatibilityPartner with product owners and business stakeholders to guide overall application design and delivery prioritiesOwn and maintain technical documentation for implemented code, integrations, and system behaviorsFacilitate integration across platforms and applications, ensuring consistency and reuse where appropriateCollaborate with DevOps engineers to improve CI/CD pipelines, automation, and deployment practicesProvide engineering and troubleshooting support to production support teams and upstream/downstream development teamsWhat we valueThese skills will help you succeed in this roleStrong analytical and problem‐solving skills, with the ability to diagnose issues in complex, distributed systemsExperience leading maintenance or BAU delivery for mission‐critical financial systemsStrong programming experience in one or more of the following: C++, C# and JavaExperience in Investment Accounting, Fund Accounting, or Financial Markets with an understanding of asset classes such as Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives. Familiarity with accounting events, valuation, corporate actions, settlement, and reconciliation processesExperience working with global, multi‐location teamsStrong stakeholder management skills, including interaction with senior technology and business leadersStrong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non‐technical audiencesEducation & Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree (BS or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline10+ years of hands‐on software development experienceFamiliarity with Github CopilotDemonstrated experience supporting and enhancing large‐scale, multi‐tier financial applicationsWork RequirementPrinceton location onsite- 2 days currently but in future this could change depending on the teams requirementSalary Range:$100,000 - $167,500 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified.
