The team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to support building new consoles to replace legacy equipment, enabling our program to stay successful and support the fleet. You'll help create modern and updated test consoles, supporting the software design, development, and choosing appropriate applications for effectively testing. This is a senior role, so we're looking for strong engineering practice, sound technical judgement, and experience taking ownership of complex work. We don't expect you to arrive knowing every technology we use; we welcome people with a passion for learning and continuous improvement.The role You'll work alongside colleagues and our customers to understand complex needs and requirements, turning them into well-engineered technical solutions. We need someone that can help lead our efforts in:Designing, building, testing, debugging, and documenting software across its lifecycle.Investigating problems and improving the reliability and maintainability of our systems.Contributing your experience to technical decisions, reviews, and collaborative problem-solving.Mentoring junior or new staff on project.Basic Qualifications:Programming Languages: Hands-on programming experience in one or more core languages, such as C/C++, Python, Java, LabVIEW, or TestStand.Software Architecture: Practical experience developing software requirements, Concepts of Operations (CONOPs), and/or foundational software design.Lifecycle Experience: Working knowledge of the end-to-end product life cycle, spanning software development, deployment, and eventual retirement.Team Operations: Proven experience working within project teams and collaborative software development efforts.Troubleshooting: Active experience using issue tracking tools and managing system troubleshooting workflows.Desired Skills:Education: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited college, a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Defense & Aerospace Domains: A background or familiarity with aerospace systems, defense technologies, or working directly alongside government/military clients.Agile & Collaboration Tools: Familiarity navigating Agile frameworks and platform management environments like JIRA, Git, and Confluence.Troubleshooting & Field Verification: Advanced on-site diagnostics, systems testing architecture, and hardware/software integration testing.Modern Development Methodologies: Knowledge of DevOps principles, automated test script design, or Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts.Pay Information:Full-Time Salary Range: $98100.00 - $182100.00 At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
