Project Superintendent
PROJECT SUPERINTENDANTAs a Superintendent you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the construction, maintenance, and operation of electrical power transmission and distribution projects by collaborating with project managers, coordinators, foremen, field personnel, and other teams. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, safety regulations, project management, and team leadership. The Superintendent plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful completion of projects within budget and timeline constraints, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.Core Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To Ensure all required materials and equipment are available, and proper inspections occur to support the project schedule.Ensure the jobsites are safe for workers and visitors as well as help manage compliance with established company safety policies, procedures, and objectives.Provide assistance, insight, and suggestions to the safety team.Work with project management teams to budget, forecast, and manage labor, equipment, materials, tools, and other costs.Prepare work plans and assist with HASPs for applicable projects.Assist others with the review and understanding of construction documents, specifications, standards, manufacturer's data and how to execute a project based upon that documentation.Review construction documents for completeness and constructability in all phases of the job.Assist others in managing projects overall, including but not limited to:Three-week look ahead schedules. Project schedule creation and updates. Generate requests for information (RFIs) as required to ensure completeness of project documents as well as identifying and clarifying any discrepancies.Review submittals for compliance with project manuals and plans, manufacturer's recommendations and code, or other standards applicable to the system.Manage the quality control program for the project and (ITPs, reports, field inspections, etc.)Preconstruction planning. Support on-site project meetings with clients, subcontractors, and O’Connell Electric project team members.Management and supervision of crews on site including:Mentor and train field personnel.Manage foremen and their duties to ensure work is performed effectively and efficiently. Provide performance evaluations of field personnel.Manage overall safety of the project and ensure all personnel have resources to perform their work safely.Other Duties IncludeWork with the project team to maintain relationships with clients, visitors, subcontractors, and suppliers. Assist and provide guidance on field management and project logistics.Assist with business development, bidding, proposals and obtaining new work.Provide feedback on processes and procedures, as the company truly believes in continuous improvement. Qualifications5+ years of proven leadership or supervisory roles.10+ years of construction experience. Basic computer skills with experience in MS Office and MS Project preferred.Valid driver's license.Insurable driving record.CompensationThe minimum and maximum annual salary that O’Connell Electric Company, Inc. believes in good faith to be accurate for this position at the time of this posting is between $100,000 to $150,000 annually.It is important to O’Connell Electric that potential candidates for this position understand that compensation depends on numerous factors including the geographic location where the role will be performed, skills required, experience, complexity, travel, and market rate.
