Status: Full-timeSchedule: 7.00 Hours/Day (8:00 am-3:30 pm) Monday-Friday 190 Days/YearMinimum Annual Salary: $69,921 (master's level)Purpose Of PositionThe Speech/Language Therapist is responsible for assessing those students referred for service, determining severity of speech/language remediation needs and designing an appropriate program for them. They are also responsible for developing an appropriate schedule for therapy in each assigned school to make maximum use of time. The Teacher of Special Education Floater position supports their assigned Program by covering daily, short-term, and long-term teacher positions. Teachers report to their respective Program Supervisor(s).Knowledge & Skill RequirementsEducation Required: Master's Degree in Speech/LanguageCertification Required: PA Certification in Speech & Language ImpairedExperience Required: None, three years preferredEssential Physical RequirementThe strength and ability to lift and/or assist in lifting pupils of ages ranging from pre-school to school- age and their assistive appliances. Considerable bending, stooping, and squatting must be tolerated as well as the ability to possibly restrain students in emotional stress.
