Camp Kef Inclusion Program Unit Head

Principal Responsibilities:The Inclusion Program Unit Head is a dynamic and compassionate leader responsible for overseeing Camp Kef's Inclusion Program. This role supervises a team of 8-12 Advocate Counselors and ensures a positive, supportive, and successful camp experience for campers with special needs, their families, and staff. The Unit Head works closely with camp leadership, families, and partner organizations to foster an inclusive camp environment rooted in dignity, safety, and growth.Camp Kef at the Kaiserman JCC is an award-winning, premier Jewish Day Camp dedicated to providing a high-quality, well-rounded summer experience. We serve campers from infancy through 10th grade and emphasize universal Jewish values including kindness, community, spirit, and respect. Camp Kef is committed to creating a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child can thrive.Minimum Qualifications:Responsibilities:March - June (Pre-Camp Responsibilities)*5 - 10 hours per week, can likely be worked remotely after trainingReview camper IEPs and other submitted documentation; follow up with families regarding missing information or questionsCollaborate with the Social Enrichment Center (SEC) to determine appropriate camper placements, including itinerant supportCommunicate with families of campers enrolled in the Inclusion ProgramCoordinate Advocate Counselor placements and support staff in creating camper welcome materialsPlan and facilitate training sessions for Advocate Counselors and generalAttend all required leadership training sessionsJune - August (Camp Season)*40 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8:15am - 4:15pm. On-site requiredSupervise Advocate Counselors, including scheduling, coaching, reassignment of campers as needed, trainings, and end-of-summer evaluationsPartner with Advocate Counselors and SEC therapists to assist in the development and implementation of behavioral and social-emotional support plansCoordinate individual camper schedules with SEC, including social skills sessionsCommunicate with parents of Inclusion campers at least weekly regarding successes, challenges, and overall progressAddress parent communication promptly regarding behavioral concerns or special situationsProvide direct support to Advocate Counselors as needed, includingCollaborate with Camp Directors and other Unit Heads to identify and support campers who may need services but were not identified prior to the summerMaintain professionalism and confidentiality regarding campers' physical,Actively participate as a member of the Camp Kef Leadership TeamPerform additional duties as assigned by supervisorAttend a one-hour end-of-summer leadership team wrap-up meetingParticipate in a one-hour debrief meeting with the Camp DirectorQualifications:Minimum of 21 years old3 - 5 years of experience working with children with special needs, including ASD and behavioral needs.1 - 2 years of experience in customer service and/or communicating with parentsExperience working at a summer camp preferredCompensation:$5,440 - $6,400 for the Summer 2026 season based on experienceHourly compensation provided for required work completed prior to the camp seasonTraining bonus offered upon completion of required trainingsCamp tuition discount available for eligible legal dependentSalary:$6000Agency Information:The Kaiserman JCC is located in Wynnewood, PA, in the heart of the Main Line.
