TrailersPlus/Interstate is the largest network of trailer dealerships in the country, with over 80 stores, 4 manufacturing plants, and has been in business since 1995. We are a well-established organization and are looking for someone to fill an immediate opening on the payroll team to help maintain and grow our company. Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the Controller will oversee, guide and direct the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of accurate accounting records, and development of a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, improve the company’s financial results and ensure compliance with relevant business accounting standards. The Controller has oversight of the accounting team, to include Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
The essential duties and responsibilities for the Controller include but are not limited to:
Overseeing and directing operations of the accounting department
Accurately preparing and maintaining the general ledger.
Preparing and providing timely and accurate financial statements.
Gathering and analyzing financial data needed by company management and providing guidance and expertise to improve business financial performance.
Oversight of cash management, budget preparation and ensuring the company’s compliance with various licensing and regulatory requirements.
Working with NetSuite, Excel and other software needed to enter, develop, access, maintain and report detailed financial information.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
A CPA is preferred and 10 or more years of relevant experience.
Experienced managing in a multi-state retail, manufacturing and corporate setting.
Capable supervisor skills such as setting expectations, managing performance, mentoring and guiding the personal growth and development of members of an accounting team.
Senior level knowledge in all accounting functions within a corporate setting, such as the general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Expertise with NetSuite, Google Suite, Excel and MacOS.
Professional and approachable personality and communication skills capable of guiding non-financial managers on financial strategies for achieving company benchmarks.
Capable of calm, organized, accurate and solution-focused actions even in dynamic or ambiguous settings.
