Job Description Position Overview:Check out the role overview below If you are confident you have got the right skills and experience, apply today.As a Sales Engineer you are responsible for translating customer demand for automated, robotic and conventional racking systems into a concrete solution where you will prepare the corresponding calculations. The Sales Engineer plays a crucial role within the Sales team leading the effort to translate the customers’ requests into an optimized rack configuration to win the order. Based on this, you prepare the right quotation.RESPONSIBILITIES:Register all incoming RFQs into Salesforce and SAPCommunicate closely with the Account Manager and the rest of the sales team to discuss offers, missing information needed from customers, alternative proposal configurations, risks, and other quote details.Design rack systems and create pricing based on customer RFQs using excel based internal programs to determine configuration, material lists, and costs.Recognize and take into account critical aspects in the applications and discuss these with the Structural Engineering Department to ensure accuracy in the quotes.Make preliminary drawings for proposals in AutoCAD.Communicate effectively with engineering, purchasing, and logistics in order to obtain correct pricing for all project proposalsEstablish effective communication with Project Manager to address potential risks and costs during project phase.SKILLS:Skilled in Excel - some programming skills and SAP knowledge are a plusKnowledge of CAD is important and should be able to read and interpret technical drawings.Knowledge of Solid Works and 3D drawings are a plusMust be a team player and be able to work efficiently within the sales teamMust have a creative and analytic mindset, developing the ability to suggest alternative configurations or designs to make the rack better and/or more cost effective for the customerAn “out-of-the box” thinker, able to build on and improve our current processesMust be Detail Oriented to ensure that all quotes include the full scope as requested by the customer and discussed by the sales teamSelf-motivated and deadline drivenQualificationsBachelor’s Degree, or associate's degree with 1-2 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience in Mechanical/Civil Engineering.Microsoft Office 365 – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OutlookSAP database a plusWe'd love to have you join our NEDCON family.
