Operations Manager
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Operations Manager is responsible for support of all functions related to a positive guest experience. Oversees the performance, efficiency and satisfaction of the Operations Team and ensures daily park operational standards are upheld.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Engages in active oversight of park operations through maintaining a visible in-park presence and active observation of quality service delivery across the park.
Ensures Operations team members provide a positive guest experience in cleanliness of park grounds, including all guest spaces, restrooms, and general support areas.
Actively engaged in all aspects of the employment lifecycle including hiring, training, safety, performance management, motivation, coaching and disciplinary action.
Works to ensure that all park features are in compliance with regulatory standards to include safety rules, state and local requirements.
Partner with the Maintenance Team to reduce park feature down-time and provide suggestions to improve the guest experience.
Continually looks for ways to improve overall efficiency of operations and adjust needs based on attendance levels, operating needs and other variables.
Responds to emergency situations as needed. Helps monitor weather conditions and ensures personnel respond appropriately in conditions of inclement weather or high heat.
Serve as a project leader for department initiatives related to improving guest or staff satisfaction, leadership development and compliance.
Serve as rotational MOD, managing all aspects of park operations
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Conducts all business in a moral and ethical manner leaving no room to question the integrity of the park or its staff
Manages the daily activities of the Operations Team to include appropriate cleaning of all public areas.
Develop, implement, and monitor schedules for the Operations Team and manage staffing process to ensure appropriate levels of resourcing to maintain efficient operations
Enforce policies and procedures; maintain a working knowledge of general and departmental safety procedures. Attends safety training programs and works to earn specific certifications as needed.
Assists with implementation and monitoring programs that assure a safe facility and work environment that is in compliance with all appropriate regulations-Ergonomics, Emergency Responses, Injury and Illness Prevention, and Hazard Communications Programs.
Ensures the proper maintenance of all equipment; makes arrangements for repair and/or replacement of used and damaged equipment.
Conducts inventory of cleaning/housekeeping supplies for submission to the proper point of contact.
Performs additional duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
High school diploma or GED
Experience
Three to five years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Demonstrated Knowledge and Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office software and Google G-Suite
Possess planning and organization skills with attention to detail and ability to multi-task, prioritize, and follow-through
Must be willing and able to work varied and long shifts including holidays, weekends, and events
Outstanding personal communication skills, ability to interact and communicate effectively and collaborate with their team, co-workers, community partners, donors, and agency contractors
Must demonstrate leadership abilities in building and sustaining a team
Ability to prepare a variety of reports and presentations
REQUIREMENTS:
Pass a background check and mandatory drug test
Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable through the park’s insurance carrier
Ability to manage by walking around in a 168-acre park
Must have good people skills and be comfortable dealing with the public
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment is widely varied and spans from quiet indoor office work to loud outdoor work in extreme weather conditions, primarily heat, though cold weather work may be necessary. The candidate must be able to adapt to either condition very quickly as transitioning from indoor to outdoor could occur multiple times per day.

The physical demands representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job include but are not limited to regularly required to sit, stand, walk, see, hear, talk, drive and meet with others. Employee must possess conversational hearing, with or without aid, as well as adequate vision and ability to verbally communicate effectively. Additionally, employee must possess dexterity to operate standard office equipment, drive a golf cart and ability to occasionally lift 40 pounds or more.
