Assistant Controller

Job Description The Assistant Controller supports financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities that inform business decision-making and operational performance. This role is responsible for analyzing financial data, developing forecasts, and supporting budgeting processes while partnering with cross-functional teams to improve financial visibility and accountability. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.Work EnvironmentThis role operates in a professional office environment with regular collaboration across finance, operations, and leadership teams. Position ResponsibilitiesFinancial Analysis & ReportingAnalyze financial performance, trends, and variances against budget and forecastPrepare recurring financial reports, dashboards, and management summariesSupport monthly, quarterly, and annual close processesEnsure accuracy and consistency of financial data and reportingBudgeting & ForecastingAssist in the development and maintenance of budgets and forecastsTrack actuals against plan and identify risks and opportunitiesSupport scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis to inform decision-makingBusiness & Operational SupportPartner with department leaders to support cost management and financial planningAnalyze operational and program-level financial data to support performance trackingProvide ad hoc financial analysis and recommendations as requestedProcess Improvement & ControlsIdentify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting, and data qualitySupport documentation of financial procedures and controlsAssist with audits and compliance activities as neededExperience & EducationBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field5+ years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or a related roleExperience in a manufacturing, engineering, or technical environment preferredSkills & CompetenciesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detailProficiency in Excel and financial modelingExperience with ERP systems and financial reporting toolsAbility to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholdersStrong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple prioritiesSelf-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset
