About The RoleThe Senior Cloud Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and high-performing cloud network architectures. This position will play a key role in optimizing connectivity between on-premises infrastructure, cloud platforms, and global enterprise applications.The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in cloud networking, automation, and security best practices, with proven experience in AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement cloud network solutions, including VPCs, subnets, routing, peering, and VPN connectionsBuild and maintain hybrid connectivity between on-premises and cloud environments using Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, or similar technologiesConfigure and manage firewalls, load balancers, gateways, and network security groupsMonitor network performance, capacity, and availability; troubleshoot complex network issuesDevelop infrastructure-as-code (IaC) templates for network automation using Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARMCollaborate with security and DevOps teams to ensure compliance, encryption, and identity management standardsLead network-related projects for cloud migrations, multi-region deployments, and disaster recoveryEstablish and document best practices, architecture diagrams, and operational proceduresMentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of the infrastructure teamRequirementsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)7+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise networking, including at least 3 years in cloud network engineeringExpert-level knowledge of cloud networking in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud PlatformStrong understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, DNS, VPN, and load balancing technologiesExperience with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) and automation scripting (Python, PowerShell, or Bash)Familiarity with cloud-native firewalls, WAF, SD-WAN, and zero trust network access (ZTNA) conceptsStrong troubleshooting and analytical skills with a focus on reliability and performance optimizationRelevant certifications preferred (e.g., AWS Advanced Networking, Azure Network Engineer Associate, CCNP/CCIE)Preferred SkillsExperience with container networking (Kubernetes, CNI, service mesh)Knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2)Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practicesExcellent documentation and communication skillsBenefitsHealth, dental, vision, life, and short/long-term disability insurancePaid vacation, holidays, and sick leaveCompetitive compensation and opportunities for advancementRetirement plan with employer contribution matchWelcoming, family-style corporate culture uniquely suited to fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and motivated individualsOne of San Antonio's "Best Places to Work" for nine consecutive years
