Material Coordinator

Job Description We are looking for a Materials Coordinator to help our customer while an individual is on FMLA. This position is a 3-5 month contract. If your skills, experience, and qualifications match those in this job overview, do not delay your application.Position SummaryThis position will lead all material functions in a team oriented manufacturing environment to support plant objectives for on-time delivery, inventory level, and supplier material flow and delivery to the assemblers/plant floor. Primary functions will include, but will not be limited to, implementing material Plan for Every Part (PFEP) to ensure the most efficient and economical movement of all materials in and out of the plant, and the ability to take necessary actions to eliminate delays and insure adherence to production and shipping schedules.Essential Job FunctionsCoordinates and expedites flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between sections or departments,according to production and shipping schedules or department priorities, and compiles and maintains manual or computerized recordsWork closely with Purchasing, Production, Stockroom, Material Expediter, Planners, and other material personnel to minimal inventory levels without resulting without resulting in production delaysCommunicates regularly with PIC Supervisor relative to availability of materials, delays, changing orders and handling problemsCompiles and maintains manual or computerized records, such as material inventory, in-process production reports, and status and location of materialsDispatch jobs and parts to a major assembly operation, working with work cell Lead PersonExamines material delivered to production departments to verify conformance to specificationsKit parts on a project basisMaintain an active knowledge of all work in process jobs and point of material consumptionOversee and coordinate inventory accuracy through cycle counting, appropriate inventory transactions, and annual physical inventory countsDeliver production orders to work cellsPrint shipping report/pick list, coordinate daily shipmentsReplenish point-of-use inventories in work cells, update shortage boardsServe as a back-up or fill-in for all other inventory control/material related job functions, as well as encoders supervisor.Experience RequirementsA minimum of three (3) to five (5) years' related work experience in production and inventory control strongly preferredExperience with bills of material and shop ordersExperience working with an ERP system (SAP) and MRP ProcessingPrior team lead experience preferredCompetenciesMust have strong communication (both written and verbal) skillsMust have computer knowledge with Microsoft Word, Outlook, ExcelAttention to detail is requiredSelf-starter with a strong work ethicMust be able to interact between all levels of the organizationCompany DescriptionProTech is a direct and contract recruiting company specializing in technical and professional skill sets.
