Senior QE Automation Engineer (POS Systems)
Qualitest Digital Quality Engineering team is seeking a Senior QE Automation Engineer with strong experience in Point-of-Sale (POS) systems. This role will drive test strategy, automation excellence, and quality standards across multiple programs. You will partner with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-quality retail and consumer solutions while mentoring engineers and advancing QA practices.Locations: Seattle, WA (primary – onsite 4 days/week)Key ResponsibilitiesLead test strategy, planning, and execution aligned with project scope and timelinesOwn and drive automation frameworks and best practices using modern toolsCollaborating with Engineering, Product, and UX teams to design scalable test solutionsBuild and maintain robust automated test suites (UI/API)Perform functional/manual testing when needed to ensure end-to-end qualityDefine and track test metrics, risks, and quality KPIs; communicate status to stakeholdersConduct code reviews for automation and mentor QE team membersIdentify gaps in QA processes, tools, and team capabilities; recommend improvementsSupport CI/CD integration and continuous testing practicesResearch and implement emerging testing tools and technologies (including AI-assisted tools)Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field8+ years of experience in QA and/or software development3+ years of hands-on experience with Playwright (preferred) or CypressStrong programming skills and automation framework design experienceExperience with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices2+ years of experience testing POS/retail systems (Oracle Xstore is a plus)Proficiency with GitHub, JIRA, and test management toolsExperience in risk-based testing, test planning, and defect managementStrong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skillsTop Must-HavesHands-on expertise in Playwright automationStrong POS/retail domain experienceWillingness to balance automation and manual testingAbility to thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments
