Engineering Manager

Job Title: Engineering ManagerJob DescriptionThe Plant Engineering Manager leads all engineering activities supporting manufacturing operations, with ownership across machine design, automation, maintenance, safety, and facilities. This role manages engineering personnel, partners closely with production leadership, and drives equipment reliability, continuous improvement, and safe operation of plant systems. This position is both strategic and hands-on, requiring strong leadership skills along with deep technical capability in automation, PLCs, machine design, and preventive maintenance.Responsibilities+ Lead and manage all engineering activities within the manufacturing plant.+ Oversee machine design, automation, maintenance, safety, and facility management.+ Collaborate closely with production leadership to ensure seamless operations.+ Drive equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.+ Ensure the safe operation of plant systems through diligent oversight.+ Provide strategic direction while maintaining hands-on involvement in technical tasks.Essential Skills+ Strong hands-on experience in programming and troubleshooting Omron PLCs, ladder logic, and machine sequencing.+ Proven ability to design or oversee the design of custom machines and integrate automation systems.+ Experience in developing, executing, and improving Preventive Maintenance programs.+ Working knowledge of machine safety systems including light curtains, interlocks, and E-Stops.+ Proficient in troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and automation systems.+ Ability to lead engineering teams and support production decisions in real time.Additional Skills & Qualifications+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.+ 5-10 years of experience in an engineering leadership or technical leadership role.+ Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical machine systems.+ Ability to read and interpret electrical prints, mechanical drawings, and process specifications.Work EnvironmentWork in a dynamic manufacturing environment requiring collaboration with production teams. Utilize advanced technologies such as Omron PLCs and vision systems. Engage in both strategic planning and hands-on technical problem solving.
