Director of Property Management

Our client, a leader among real estate developers in Maine, is seeking a highly experienced Director of Property Management. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing residential properties, with a specific emphasis on affordable housing projects. This role requires leadership, strategic vision, and a deep understanding of regulatory compliance and tenant relations within the affordable housing sector. It also requires an entrepreneurial drive, as this person will have the opportunity to build out a best-in-class new affordable housing division, including the creation of systems, processes, policies, staffing structure, and strategic and incremental takeback of management for affordable properties currently managed by a third party. Required Education and ExperienceBachelor's Degree and 10+ years of experience in affordable property management; advanced degree preferred.Prior experience with local, state, and federal housing programs and related regulatory requirements, including LIHTC, HUD, IZ, AHP, HCV/PBVs.·        Experience managing large, regional portfolios with varying funding sources and regulatory requirements.Experience building and leading large teams with a values-based and results-oriented approach.Knowledge of accounting, finance, and real estate principles to ensure fiscally sound management practices for properties.
