Project Manager Electrical
Overview
In this role you will lead integrated design efforts in Stantec’s Buildings team, applying electrical engineering principles to deliver high-quality projects for clients. You will cultivate key relationships, manage cross-functional resources, and ensure projects meet time and budget goals. You will mentor teammates, uphold technical standards, and pursue new business opportunities. ResponsibilitiesProvide expert leadership in project management and relationship skills, leading integrated design teams and client interactions.Maintain a client-first approach in developing key relationships and pursuing opportunities.Strategically evaluate opportunities and apply consulting and technical skills in client interactions.Manage design and project delivery with cross-functional resources to meet scope, schedule, and budget.Serve as trainer, mentor, and resource to others.Hold project team members accountable for deliverables and financial performance.Nurture existing client relationships and proactively pursue new business.Provide client consultation drawing on professional expertise and Stantec services.Develop and deliver client presentations.Maintain knowledge of technologies and trends applicable to projects and markets, strengthening skills
Key requirementsExperience collaborating with electrical contractors on Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build projects (preferred)Construction industry experience or deep knowledge of construction processesUnderstanding of project management principles and ability to manage clients, projects, fees, and teamsAbility to integrate design elements with other disciplinesStrong knowledge of codes and standardsDeep knowledge of power distribution, lighting systems, and building technology systemsExperience in healthcare or commercial/workplace marketsAbility to apply sustainable design principlesStrong client communication and interpersonal skillsProficiency with AutoCAD MEP and Revit MEP; working knowledge of Microsoft OfficePeriodic travel to meet engagement/client requirements (regional/national/international)Bachelor in Electrical Engineering or related field; 8+ years experience; PE registration preferredClient-focused communicationInterpersonal skillsCollaboration and teamworkPower distribution systemsLighting systemsBuilding technology systems
