Registered Respiratory Therapist Location: Akron, OH Agency: Jackson HealthPros Pay: $1,502 to $1,702 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 5/4/2026 About the Position We’re hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a local hospital in Akron, OH where you’ll be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders. Minimum Requirements: Associate or bachelor’s degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program. Current Ohio state license in good standing with the State License Board. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required. Minimum one year experience as an RRT in an acute care or hospital setting. BLS certification required. Experience with mechanical ventilators, non-invasive ventilation, and invasive ventilation management. Competence with arterial blood gas sampling and interpretation, oximetry, and capnography monitoring. Experience performing tracheostomy care, suctioning, chest physiotherapy, and routine pulmonary function testing. Ability to perform 12-lead EKGs and basic arrhythmia recognition. Familiarity with bedside procedures such as bronchoscopy support, chest tube management, and endotracheal intubation using video laryngoscopy preferred. Ability to document respiratory care records and communicate effectively during shift-to-shift handoffs. Preferred: ACLS certification and prior experience in critical care, step-down, or trauma center environments.
